4th Grade

In 4th grade we are exploring the meter of 6/8 and singing 3-part rounds! 6/8 is a compound meter which means it's notes are divided into three even beats, rather than two even beats (as in 4/4). This means we are adding new rhythms to our vocabulary! We're gaining confidence with identifying, reading, and performing these rhythms. We learned many songs in 6/8 but each class chose one to focus on and they all happen to choose "The Earth, Air, Fire, Water," a repetitive melody about the elements.
