Ms. Groth's Music Room

1st Grade

Our first graders have begun reading traditional music notation! We have been reading, playing, and performing quarter notes, beamed eighth notes, and the pitches sol and mi! Each day our music mail has a new challenge waiting for them and they rise to the occasion! In recent weeks we've learned many songs including our new rhythms and pitches. Each class chose their favorite song to continue analyzing, performing, and learning about.  We've used manipulatives to map out the rhythms and pitches we hear! Eventually, we will be composing our own music!
